Description:
The Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching Penn students, residents and fellows, as well as graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include care that specializes in IBD, motility/physiology, Hepatology, advanced endoscopy, and/or general gastroenterology. The selected candidate may be required to provide these services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), and/or Penn Medicine at Radnor (PMR).
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include working on research in the field of gastroenterology, as well as collaboration with members of labs in their research and give their contributions. Scholarship is a requirement for this position and there is an expectation that selected candidates will be able to secure and retain research funding. This is an exciting opportunity to facilitate basic, translational and clinical research within a great university and prominent health system. The successful candidates should be mid-career and an outstanding educator, who will excel at teaching and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research. Selected applicants will join a highly interactive and exciting multidisciplinary academic and clinical environment at the University of Pennsylvania as an integral member of the Division of Gastroenterology and will have opportunities to teach the GI fellowship and internal medicine residency programs at the Perelman School of Medicine. There will be an expectation of the ability of the candidate to provide management and/or leadership.
