Position DetailsPosting ID:17056Position Title:Assistant / Associate Professor in Macroeconomics Category:Tenure-trackDepartment:Robert Day SchoolDepartment URL:https://www.cmc.edu/robert-day-schoolDescription:The Robert Day School of Economics and Finance (RDS) at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship at the early assistant professor level. All subfields and areas of Macroeconomics will be considered including, but not limited to, development economics, financial economics, trade, monetary economics, and economic history. The position will begin on July 1, 2025. The successful candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. by the time of the appointment.


The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to maintain an active, high-quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching. The successful applicant will teach intermediate macroeconomics and in areas related to their expertise. The teaching load is two courses per semester. We seek candidates committed to cultivating an inclusive educational environment, with the ability to teach, mentor, and inspire students from a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds, political opinions, genders, races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, and religions. RDS has more than 30 tenured and tenure-track professors in economics, finance, and accounting, and it combines elements of an elite liberal arts college and a research-focused institution. Anticipated Annual Salary Range:


$125,000 - $135,000

and Timetable:Applications should include a cover letter; curriculum vitae; research statement; teaching statement; a diversity statement addressing the candidate's ability to teach, mentor, and inspire students representing a broad range of backgrounds; evidence of teaching effectiveness; and at least one research paper. Applicants must also provide at least three references who will submit confidential recommendation letters.
