The candidate will be responsible for working in an inter-disciplinary biopharmaceutical set-up to develop analytical methods for discriminatory and bio-predictive dissolutions testing. The intern will be responsible for carrying out and supporting analytical research and development activities (method development, validations, transfers, documentation, stability, etc.) for drug substances and drug products with a focus on formulation development.
Internship Job Duties:
Use knowledge and experience to design, conduct and interpret data from experiments. Plan work based on specific objectives. Prioritize tasks; keep management/team informed of progress and adjust work accordingly. Display an understanding of project goals.
The candidate will work in close collaboration with partner groups across the organization such as global development teams (formulation, chemistry, safety sciences, etc.), regulatory, quality, and manufacturing.
The candidate will be responsible for authoring, reviewing, and archival of various documentations such as test procedures, method validation plans, protocols, reports, stability data, and SOPs.
Demonstrate the ability to identify and recommend solutions for problems that arise during experimentation.
Understand safety. Consider safety as an integral part of planning for and performing daily activities.
Communicate technical information efficiently and accurately. Practice active listening skills to understand information being communicated by others. Deliver articulate presentations in a team environment. Write clearly and concisely. Maintain laboratory notebook meeting corporate standards.
Internship Qualifications:
Good understanding, knowledge, and experience with various modern analytical tools (dissolution testing, U/HPLC, particle size, etc.) and technologies used in the pharmaceutical industry
Practical analytical experience working with active pharmaceutical ingredients and related dosage forms including long acting formulations and parenteral products. A track record of analytical problem solving, and method development is desired.
Basic understanding of the pharmaceutical development process.
Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
Good documentation skills for recording research and ability to summarize results in concise memos, development reports, and technical documents (e.g., validation reports, stability reports, development summaries).
Masters of Ph.D. in chemistry, laboratory sciences or other related discipline with at least 2-4 years industry experience preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position:
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $16.00 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $20.00 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $32.50 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $36.00 per hour
