Demonstrates commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.
Check in new dies; pull dies and inspect for worn rules; make sure enough counters are available for next run; file dies away after usage.
Prep dies; cut matrix, check rubber and nicks, add stripping pins to male stripping boards, check foam on male stripping boards - add if needed.
Ensure stock is in staging area for upcoming jobs; wind and jog stock if needed.
Pull art files for upcoming jobs as needed.
Pull spot make ready sheets for upcoming jobs.
Supply and empty broke bins as needed.
Help with the baler as needed.
Be able to operate powered pallet equipment.
Assist with make readies.
Track supplies and communicate with supervisor when reaching low levels.
Keep work area neat and clean - empty garbage, & rag bins.
Fill solvent bottles and keep all MSDS labels current and accurate.
Keep Area Manager aware of need for replacement tooling and any problems with dies.
Keep diecutters running during breaks. (start training with operator by 6 months in helper position)
Become certified as back-up operator. (complete by 12 months in helper position) 442, 443, 444, 445, 446
Act as Operator during vacations, leave of absences, etc., on all shifts as needed.
Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment.
Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product.
Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.
Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
