As a Cross-border Specialist you will be performing:

MAIN OBJECTIVE: Manage cross-border employment matters, providing expertise on immigration processes, compensation structures, and tax implications. The specialist will work closely with HR, legal, and finance teams to ensure compliance with international employment regulations, while also assisting in the translation of documents between English and Spanish.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Cross-Border Employment: Review, oversee and coordinate cross-border employee movements, including transfers, relocations, and remote work.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international labor laws in relation to cross-border employment.
  • Up to date on immigration laws and policies, providing timely insight and advice to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that compensation structures align with local regulations and company policies. (Across borders)
  • Review employees in different jurisdictions to provide insight and review tax implications
  • Partner with finance and 3rd parties to understand tax implications for employees in different jurisdictions.
  • Review and collaborate with 3rd parties to ensure proper tax withholdings for employees working in multiple countries.
  • Advise employees on tax filing requirements based on their residency and work status.
  • Translate legal, immigration, and HR-related documents from English to Spanish and vice versa.
  • Assist in verbal translation during meetings or discussions with Spanish-speaking employees or external partners.
  • Provide support to Spanish-speaking employees and partners, ensuring clear communication of policies, processes, and legal requirements.
  • Act as a cultural bridge, helping to navigate language and cultural differences in cross-border projects.

Requirements:
  • Years of relevant experience: 4-7 years of related experience.
  • Education: Associate's degree in Paralegal, Business Admin or Human Resources related field it is preferred.
  • Proven experience in handling cross-border employment matters, immigration processes, and compensation planning.
  • Deep knowledge of visa applications, green card processes, and international tax implications.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong translation skills for both written and verbal communication.
  • Strong understanding of compensation structures, including international adjustments.
  • Experience working with tax advisors and understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax laws.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders across departments.
