iTi Tropicals is North America's largest supplier of tropical fruit juice concentrates and purees. We are seeking a scrappy operator with strong business acumen who enjoys using their brain, tech, and operational efficiency knowledge to solve real world business problems. This role reports to the Manager of Finance, Administration, & Logistics who reports to the VP of Strategy. You'll be working with them and 2 ops peers to learn not only how to operate current processes, but dramatically improve them over time to increase profitability.
You will help transform order management processes by helping to streamline the workflow from order placement to fulfillment. The first 3 months you will train and execute day-to-day operations, but the ideal candidate would soon begin identifying inefficiencies, implementing automation solutions, and limiting human data entry to accelerate order execution at a low defect rate. You will play a pivotal role in reengineering the order fulfillment and delivery pipeline, reducing operational bottlenecks, and driving profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Process improvement: After mastering the basics of iTi's order entry, customer support, and outbound logistics processes, you will improve our operational workflows with process optimization, technology, and automation; use experience in operations, logistics, brokerage, and manufacturing operations to find opportunities to use technology to increase efficiency
Support sales: Provide timely and proactive updates to customers, sales reps, and executives regarding the status of shipment
Inventory release: Create release docs in our ERP (incl. picking ticket, packing slip, and other supporting documentation); Write clear instructions to third party warehouse operators and ultimately, truck drivers, to ensure they follow all customer and internal procedures
Manage 3PLs & 3PWs: Manage third-party warehousing vendors to properly pick, pack, palletize, and load liquid and powdered inventory in both dry and refrigerated (reefer) environments
Transportation negotiations: Evaluate and select freight carriers based on service quality, on-time percentage, and overall cost; negotiate contract and spot over-the-road trucking rates is a big plus
Qualifications:
2-5 years of management or operational consulting, engineering, warehouse management, or logistics experience; preferably in the food & beverage or manufacturing sectors
Strong business acumen, understanding of basic consulting/process improvement frameworks and a mindset of "constant improvement"
MUST excel at navigating multiple systems and workflows with a high level of efficiency, using keyboard shortcuts to manage tasks and minimize reliance on the mouse for a faster, more streamlined work process; must be a fast, but accurate, and professional typer/writer and use Excel regularly to analyze data and workflows
Highly proficient in Excel, Powerpoint, and Adobe Acrobat with a proven track record of managing hundreds of emails and dozens of active orders while keeping your cool
Bachelor's degree preferred; business or engineering degree is a plus
Skilled at succinct and professionally verbal and written communications
Comfortability operating in one or more technology platforms; familiarity with various TMSs platforms, ERPs, and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains are a plus
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM. Upon completion of training, this role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
