Role Overview:
As a Project Manager at SCC, you will oversee projects from initial bidding to successful execution and closeout. You will collaborate closely with senior management and serve as clients' primary point of contact. Your role involves coordinating project activities to ensure alignment with cost, schedule, and quality standards. The position requires proactive, independent decision-making in day-to-day project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Preconstruction/ Estimating:
Collaborate on proposals and presentations
Review proposals, GCs, and terms
Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules
Provide constructability reviews and budget updates
Coordinate sub-bids and estimates
Review insurance and bonding requirements
Job Planning/ Set Up:
Prepare job summary sheets and secure permits
Review drawings and specifications
Manage cost codes and accounts
Develop submittal requirements and release orders
Coordinate field mobilization and access plans
Ongoing Project Management:
Conduct project meetings and maintain relations
Monitor submittals and material deliveries
Handle change orders and invoices
Update schedules and cost reports
Conduct job site walkthroughs for quality assurance
Project Closeout:
Implement project closeout checklist
Issue punch lists and track completion
Prepare final billings and retainment
Conduct post-project reviews and archive files
Qualifications/ Experience and Education:
Minimum of 5 years of Commercial Construction Project Manager experience
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to read blueprints (Required)
Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
Graduation from a 4-year college/university in construction management, engineering, or related field (LEED accreditation preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in construction principles, techniques, and procedures
Skilled in computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, project scheduling)
Effective communication in oral, written, and graphic forms
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to read architectural plans and specifications
CPM scheduling and estimating experience preferred
