We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Member Engagement Associate to provide support for the member engagement team and Navy League members. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Member Engagement and the Vice President of Member Engagement. The ideal candidate shall have the ability to liaison between departments, including the member engagement department and the events department, to support large volunteer events, such as the National Convention and the Annual Meeting of Members.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Organize and manage the Navy League Awards program in accordance with the Awards Manual. Act as staff liaison for Awards Committee, take meeting minutes, and ensure awards are ordered on time and on budget. Maintain a detailed timeline and deadlines for all phases of the awards program. Coordinate with the Meetings department on award logistics. Work with staff to ensure timely ALNAV communication and awards marketing.
Assist Senior Manager of Member Engagement with managing the Council Leadership Training Program. Work with volunteers to determine the most appropriate training topics.
Become the staff resource on Navy League Bylaws and Operations Manual.
Maintain internal and external Navy League website calendar.
Provide administrative support for the Navy League Foundation and Nominating Committee as needed.
Assist with membership projects as needed.
Primary responsibilities will shift to the highlighted duties below July-December annually:
Provide exceptional customer service to members and councils. Answer emails and phone calls from members and councils. Work with Member Engagement team to ensure timely updates are made in the database.
Ensure annual report data is updated yearly in the Nimble database and council information spreadsheet (and as needed).
Update and maintain member and council data in Nimble database. Ensure council reports are pulling correctly. Create reports for councils as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Education: B.A. or B.S. degree.
Skill requirements: Salesforce or Nimble AMS experience preferred.
Knowledge of MS Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Previous non-profit membership experience preferred. Attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively in demanding situations. Ability to manage to diverse workload. Strong emotional intelligence required.
