Position Overview: A reputable investment management firm is seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Counsel to join their legal team. This position will provide strategic legal advice and support on a wide range of labor and employment matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while promoting a positive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert legal advice on labor and employment issues, including hiring, terminations, employee relations, and workplace policies.
Draft, review, and update employment-related documents, including employment agreements, policies, and handbooks.
Conduct internal investigations regarding employee complaints and grievances, advising management on best practices for resolution.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations, and best practices.
Represent the firm in labor-related disputes, including mediations, arbitrations, and litigation as necessary.
Collaborate with HR and management to develop and implement effective employee training programs on labor and employment issues.
Monitor and analyze changes in labor and employment laws, advising the firm on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the firm, fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and employment law
Strong understanding of federal and state labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide practical solutions to complex issues.
