The Imaging Engineer will be responsible for all X-ray imaging systems and equipment. This includes implementation, configuration, workflow management, troubleshooting and maintenance of all imaging systems and associated software. The Imaging Engineer will also be a systems manager as they must understand the interdependencies of the applications/systems they support, work closely with vendors, understand performance improvement opportunities, and model project management methodologies for the entire organization.
Duties:
Perform and document X-ray imaging studies with a variety of foreign objects and products.
Ensure good documentation of settings for image creation.
Troubleshoot imaging related problems for company equipment.
Manage replacement of components of various imaging devices and own the overall health of imaging quality and device management internally.
Evaluate vendors to upgrade or enhance components for improvement.
Interact with various vendors to maintain service and uptime of equipment systems.
Participate in imaging related activities for current and future assets.
Work closely with sales team, operations, and upper management.
Develop and maintain best practices for entire imaging function.
Travel to company sites worldwide to perform application studies, training, inspections, or demonstrations and/or to participate in system installation, repairs, or troubleshooting: approx. 50% travel.
Monitor emerging imaging technology developments and determine applicability.
Conduct experimental investigations with new imaging components and technologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems or Application Engineering, or Imaging Science
At least three (3) years' experience in image processing and applications
OR at least five years' experience with imaging hardware or other appropriate related experience.
Familiarity with x-ray systems such as Food Inspection, Security, Industrial, or Medical.
Prior usage of MATLAB, C/C++, C#, Visual Basic, etc.
Understand X-ray generation and the influence on imaging quality.
Must be up to date with all technological advancements in x-ray imaging.
X-ray imaging system and processing experience.
Proficiency in the English language with established written and verbal communication skills.
