As a Sr. Packaging Engineer, you are essential to this mission. Your innovative work in packaging design will ensure that our products are not only effective but also accessible and user-friendly for those on the front lines of public health. From conceptualizing new product ideas in discovery programs to steering them through the commercialization process, your contributions will be key to both our growth and cost-saving initiatives.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead the execution of new packaging solutions to market and develop new products from concept to development, using technical leadership to translate end-user, regulatory, category and market insights into package solutions.
Develop products in close partnership with Product Development peers, as well as Marketing, Sales, Product Supply and Regulatory.
Serve as Packaging Development Lead for projects, leveraging a network of internal experts and external suppliers, and utilize your packaging knowledge to ensure technical rigor and deliver against project deliverables.
Design and execute technical testing to converge on and validate packaging design performance, including creating prototypes and developing new test methods with support when necessary. Work closely with current and potential suppliers to provide innovative solutions to meet objectives presented in projects.
Deeply understand packaging technologies and manufacturing processes for application to production.
Act as Packaging ESG Lead for CPro, tracking progress in achieving CPro's and Corporate ESG goals and identifying CPro-specific opportunities.
Identify and lead cost saving initiatives and packaging solutions to improve supply chain efficiency, including ecomm and B2B delivery forms.
Help maintain and build capabilities of Packaging in the R&D function.
Key Skills, Abilities, And Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
5+ experience of development experience in the consumer product industry, primarily in a packaging development capacity, with relevant experience with rigid bottles, canisters, closures, flexibles, corrugated case, folding cartons, and pallet pattern design
Strong technical curiosity and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and implement multiple projects in a timely manner
Proven leadership, communication, and people skills to work in a collaborative team environment, internally and externally
Ability to identify, champion and adapt new technologies, tools, and processes
