Buyer - Allocator, Ecommerce
Contract to hire - 6 month contract
Hybrid/onsite in Irvine
40 hours per week
Pay rate $26-$29 per hour
The Ecommerce Buyer/Allocator will partner with the buyer in managing all aspects of the category businesses to drive the results that meet and/or exceed the plan financial, qualitative objectives and inventory management of the business. Assume full responsibility for assigned product categories by ensuring accurate and timely placement of products based on customer's demands, market trends, brand direction and fiscal obligations. This position will support the team by ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining buys, launch timelines, hindsight, purchase order logistics and communications with cross functional teams across the business.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Creates, and reviews monthly and ad hoc buys with cross functional teams. • Drives, reviews, and communicates buys through OTB meetings with management team for final approval. • Accountable for merchandise performance. • Recommends revisions to the merchandise plan/forecast based on sound analysis and ensures corrective actions are implemented. • Works with the planning team to develop assortment plans that optimize inventory performance and reduce markdown risk. • Reviews seasonal buys and contributes to the flawless execution of merchandising strategies by focusing on key programs based on buy strategies. • Develops global eCommerce product assortment plans and merchandising strategies. • Ensures key milestones are maintained based on the master calendar. • Understands competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and strategies. • Forecasts and provides recommendations, and execution on where and how merchandise should be placed on the brand site to maximize product interest, customer experience and conversions. • Analyzes and recaps weekly and daily sales data across all product categories to understand top sellers, events and promotions and utilize reporting data & analytics to improve business performance and provide insight to drive revenue growth. • Works with production, Marketing, and content teams to effectively plan the product calendar and maximize business opportunities (i.e. selection of products to feature in emails, homepage, and marketing campaigns) for a cohesive shopping experience. • Identifies and navigates new products into cross-sells and upsells, based on product attributes and known customer shopping behaviors. Responsible for site product navigation maintenance. • Defines the long-term merchandising strategies across brands and geographies and identify areas to improve site conversion. • Adjusts the site product strategy based on assessment of the competitive landscape (site merchandising strategies of key competitors and best-in-class online retailers) and emerging online trends. • Maintains site products by reviewing weekly inventory reports and confirming products and inventory are available for the website • Works cross-functionally to ensure the site is using best practices for SEO, identify content/copy changes on product pages, category pages and homepage that may help boost search engine rankings. • Understands our shopper needs and expectations in different geographies and works with creative teams to achieve a balanced, strategic approach to online merchandising localization. • Oversees ecommerce product movement and sales analysis monthly to determine demand and inventory needs. • Assists to determine OTB and inventory positioning prior to buying periods. • Manages the ecommerce account and all associated ordering and tracks final buys by category. • Prepares cost analyses and competitive retail strategies. • Utilizes pre-season and in season planning and projections throughout the year to ensure sufficient stock levels. • Prepares and analyzes weekly style and category reports. • Ensures proper assortment mix by developing projections on core items and creates weekly analysis to track category sales. • Assists in developing and implementing exclusive products for increasing revenue and improving standards • Maintains inventories through sales/stock analysis. • Communicates the overall positioning in a weekly meeting with management. • Analyzes size selling data to identify improvement opportunities and adjust accordingly to in season to maximize business on seasonal and replenishment products. • Analyzes POS, inventory, and shipment data to make inform decisions regarding replenishment of items to on a timely basis back to website. • Maintains good relationships with business partners to contribute on strategies, share best practices and improve the overall business strategic initiatives and business acumen.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent • Minimum three years' experience in a buying office as an Associate Buyer
