Role Summary
As the Director of Payroll, you will be responsible for managing our payroll operations. Your attention to detail and expertise in payroll management will ensure the accurate processing of compensation packages, taxes, deductions, and other payroll-related tasks. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address questions and discrepancies, while maintaining a positive and efficient working environment. Experience in implementing payroll software and designing streamlined processes is highly valued, as is the ability to prepare executive-level reporting in Excel.
Responsibilities
Manage compensation packages and payroll operations.
Maintain payroll information by designing systems, directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data.
Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes to payroll profiles.
Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate.
Manage and calculate taxes and deductions.
Initiate periodical payments timely by preparing or administering manual checks or direct deposits.
Prepare reports including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and disability.
Update paper and electronic payroll records, including adjustments.
Calculate unemployment and severance payments.
Handle questions/complaints regarding payroll from employees or management, investigate discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience in implementing payroll software or streamlining processes.
Experience in restaurant, QSR, or similar environments preferred.
Strong attention to detail and Excel skills required for executive-level reporting.
Must have experience in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Legally able to work within State and Federal guidelines.
Sense of urgency and prioritization.
Ability to succeed in a deadline-driven environment.
