Ascendant is seeking qualified Property Damage Claims Adjusters to join their Liability Claims Division. The primary job responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to effectively managing an inventory of claims, pursuant to statutory regulations as well as Claims Best Practices standards. The property damage adjuster will investigate and evaluate automobile, as well as physical property damage for liability and applicable coverage.
Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Investigate property damage liability claims by securing recorded statements from insured drivers, claimant drivers, independent witnesses, determination of comparable negligence relative to liability exposures, including total loss/total theft resolution.
Retention of scene investigators and/or other vendors as needed to assist in establishing liability and comparative negligence determination.
Provide excellent customer service to all parties.
Responsible for follow up with applicable parties to discuss liability and settlement negotiation in exchange for a release when applicable.
Responsible for responding/filing arbitration contentions for liability disputes with other arbitration members.
Responsible for submitting reservation of rights and denial letter language.
Responsible for analysis of loss of use and rental reimbursement payment based upon estimated repair time for claimant vehicles and submitting/obtaining executed property releases for settlement where applicable.
Responsible for managing an average case load of between 100-120 claim files in a timely, effective, and organized manner.
Responsible for proper loss/expense reserves
Responsible for special projects at the direction of management as needed.
Requirements/Skills:
Must have an active Florida all lines adjuster license.
Minimum 4+ years of experience handling property damage claims in the state of Florida.
Full understanding of property damage claims investigations and claims processing.
Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient with computers, web-based applications, and Microsoft Office.
Possess technical problem-solving skills.
Strong negotiation skills and able to apply updated comparative negligence laws.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to work within a team environment.
Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with other adjusters as needed to mitigate exposures to the organization.
