Position Overview The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing construction projects at various job sites, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves extensive travel to different locations, coordinating with subcontractors, managing project schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with subcontractors and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
Oversee budget management and expense tracking, including per diem and car allowance management.
Conduct regular progress reporting and maintain communication with project stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with safety management protocols and building codes on all job sites.
Implement quality control measures to uphold high standards of construction.
Manage punch list tasks to ensure all project elements are completed satisfactorily.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Utilize software tools for project management, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
Coordinate travel logistics and schedules as needed for various job sites.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry.
Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
Proficiency in scheduling and budget management.
Experience in subcontractor coordination and relationship building.
Knowledge of safety management practices and OSHA regulations.
Attention to detail and strong quality control skills.
Familiarity with construction codes and compliance requirements.
Proficient in software applications, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
Travel flexibility with a valid driver's license and ability to operate a forklift.
First Aid CPR certification and OSHA training are preferred.
