Job Description:

Job Summary:
  • As a manufacturing associate, your duties include but are not limited to organizing supplies and raw materials inventory, billing and procurement of materials.
  • Create production work envelopes for Jewelers from Orders received in the workshop. Weigh, record and issue required raw materials (castings, findings, plate, wire, etc.) to work envelopes.
  • Sequence work envelopes based on the schedule created by the Production Planner and issue to assigned resources (Jeweler, Setter, Polisher, and subcontractor). Facilitate the flow of work through production by working closely with the Production Planner, workshop leaders, Material Handler, Jewelers, Setters and Polishers. Have work moved to the required next step process resource to enable on-time Order delivery.
  • Gather and record actual production times by process step and resource into the job tracking system (Excel spreadsheet), by Order. Record actual materials used by Order in same system. This information will be used to create Billing Invoices for completed Orders in the workshop and measuring performance by resource.

Key Duties Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Inventory of raw materials
  • Ordering supplies and billing
  • Order castings and findings
  • Create work envelopes for Jewelers and issue required raw materials
  • Sequence work based on schedule created by Production Planner
  • Move work in progress (WIP) to various resources as needed
  • Record actual production times by order in tracking system
  • Reconcile WIP to ensure 100% accuracy of work envelopes

Key Job Relationships:
  • Internal: Jewelers, Setters, Polishers, Gemstone Acquisition, Supply Management, Product Development, Custom and Special Order teams
  • External: Various suppliers and outside subcontractors, when necessary

Job Qualifications:
  • Proficient computer skills and use of Microsoft Office suite. Strong MSExcel skills required
  • High Proficiency in communication skills (written & verbal), to be able to deal effectively with all levels of our organization and our suppliers organizations
  • Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials and information as needed on each project
  • Must be team oriented and able to create strong relationships with all cross-functional teams
  • Capacity to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and simultaneously complete multiple projects
