Summary: The Crew Planner at National Airlines has a strategic role that focuses on Crewmember roster management beyond the immediate 72-hour window, creating a plan that allows for a safe and efficient operation in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and company policies. Key responsibilities include supporting the creation and awarding of crew schedules, assisting in the vacation bid process, processing roster adjustments, and contributing to crew staffing assessments for operational requirements. The Crew Planner works closely with other departments before handing off the schedule to the Crew Scheduling team for operational success.
Essential Functions:
Strategic Operations Planning: This role is centered around the planning and management of crew operations beyond the immediate 72-hour window. The Crew Planner is responsible for medium to long-term strategic planning, ensuring that crew rosters are effectively coordinated and aligned with the Company's operational goals and future growth plans.
Roster Management: Administering the crew bid awards, vacation/PTO management, and coordinating the assignment of trips to ensure all flights can be legally operated as planned.
Communication: Liaison with other critical departments, particularly the Crew Scheduling, Commercial, Mission Planning, and Training teams. This involves collaborating on flight and training schedules, integrating crew availability and requirements into operational planning, ensuring seamless execution of strategies.
Crewmember Satisfaction: Maintaining open lines of communication with Crewmembers, actively soliciting, and considering their feedback, and proposing process changes to better support and address their needs. This function is integral to creating a positive work environment and enhancing overall Crewmember morale and operational efficiency.
Supervisor Responsibility: No
Work Hours: Shift work, including weekends and holidays to support a 24/7 operation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in airline operations, with a focus on crew scheduling/planning.
Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 117 and Part 121.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently and effectively.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located.
Must pass a background check which could include fingerprinting, a pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC).
