CELL CULTURE TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
Isolation, growth, subculture of mammalian cell cultures.
Tissue dissection and small animal surgery.
Lab maintenance, stocking, cleaning.
Digital and hardcopy recordkeeping.
Microscope work.
Quality Control testing, data collection, and analysis.
Depending on personal aptitude, the candidate may also be involved in cell isolation and other cell-based research & development projects.
CELL CULTURE TECHNICIAN CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
A B.S. degree in cell biology or closely related field.
1-2 years laboratory experience, or equivalent, is preferred.
Possess a great work ethic
Track record of completing tasks in precise and punctual fashion.
Possess outstanding manual dexterity and be able to carry out aseptic work.
Be able to carry out calculations necessary for determining cell doubling time, cell concentration, seeding density, molarity, etc.
Be comfortable with what can sometimes be repetitive work, including extended use of microscopes.
Be extremely neat and detail-oriented.
Be familiar with life science laboratory equipment.
