We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Microscopy Technician to join our team. This Scientist will operate and maintain various microscopy systems, including microtomes, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), light microscopy, PCR and Microplate Readers systems, Electrophoresis, fluorescence microscopy.
You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing samples, operating and maintaining microscopy equipment, and assisting with data analysis to support our research and product development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Histology
Perform tissue fixation, dissection, clearing, sectioning, mounting, staining, and covering of tissue sections on microscope slides. This includes paraffin tissue processing, embedding, and microtomy.
Perform precise sectioning of biological tissues using a microtome, including paraffin and frozen sections.
Ensure proper alignment and thickness of sections for downstream analyses (staining, microscopy, etc.).
Ensure consistent quality and reproducibility of tissue sections for diagnostic or research purposes.
Conduct standard tissue labeling techniques such as hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), silver stain, DAPI, immunohistochemistry, and in-situ hybridization.
Experience with routine histology procedures and immunohistochemistry is a plus.
Knowledge of histopathology and tissue anatomy.
Familiarity with identifying tissue organs/samples, microtomy skills, and routine hematoxylin and eosin staining is preferred.
Familiarity with preparing buffers and solutions, as well as experience using a microtome, clearing tissue instrument, slide scanner, and cryostat.

Ability to do scientific mathematical calculations such conversions, dilutions, etc..

Prepare routine solutions and buffers for the team and researchers to use in the laboratory.
Read and follow established protocols, write new protocols, assist in optimizing protocols for new techniques and tissue types, and ensure detailed documentation of all work performed.
Maintain and document the use and upkeep of laboratory equipment. Troubleshoot equipment and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly laboratory environment, including handling hazardous chemicals, disposing of waste, managing inventory, and ordering supplies.
Ensure accurate written and computerized records are maintained, analyze raw data collection, and address deviations from SOPs or protocol requirements.
Perform routine lab duties, such as inventory management, ordering supplies, cleaning equipment, and glassware.
Handle sensitive intellectual property (IP) and data with care.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of microscopes and PCR equipment.
Follow all laboratory safety guidelines and proper handling protocols.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs with technical support as needed.

Use ELN system to document day-to-day work and Lab Reports
Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pH measurement, centrifugation).

Experience with PCR techniques from sample prep to result interpretation.
Knowledge of advanced microscopy techniques (confocal, fluorescence, super-resolution microscopy, scanning/transmission electron microscopy)
Prepare samples for SEM analysis using various techniques such as sputter coating, ion milling, or cryo-SEM, ensuring samples are properly prepared for accurate imaging and data acquisition.
Prepare samples and conduct structural characterization of biological specimens, including tissues, cells, and extracellular vesicles, utilizing electron microscopy techniques.
