Seeking detail oriented, self-starter that is creative with proven success in system planning for electrical Transmission lines.
The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of successful experience in Electrical Engineering in transmission for the power industry.
The position is eligible for hybrid work and can based near our San Antonio office or Houston office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete Electric System Planning studies, Construction Work Plans and Long-Range Plans based on transmission system analysis
Analyzes existing transmission lines for conductor upgrades and communications cable additions.
Conduct transmission connected generation studies in ERCOT
Research and studies new technologies, methods, and equipment
Experience with PSS/E, Aspen Oneliner, and PowerWorld.
Review system data and oversee monthly updating of system load data by administrative staff.
Represent Schneider and Client when meeting with other stakeholders including property owners, other engineering firms or construction services.
Effectively communicate with Client(s) in a timely manner for assigned projects, representing Schneider.
Provides transmission project budget estimates, when appropriate
Estimates quantities and cost of materials, equipment or labor to determine project feasibility.
Maintain good project documentation, including calculations, telephone conversations, planning decisions, rationale and filing copies of all pertinent information.
Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with key Client personnel with whom project work is interfaced with.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program;
PE License;
Experience with PSS/E, Aspen Oneliner, and PowerWorld.
5-10 years' experience in Transmission for the Energy Industry
SKILLS:
Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills,
Exceptional computer skills, with emphasis in project management, spreadsheet and word processing applications.
Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking.
Possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing;
PHYSICAL: This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
