Position Overview The Project Leader for MEP Engineering will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering projects, from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, technical design, and engineering principles, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of MEP engineering projects, including budget, timeline, and resource allocation
Collaborate with design teams and clients to develop technical solutions and design plans
Conduct code research and ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes and regulations
Utilize value engineering techniques to optimize project costs and efficiency
Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure project deliverables meet high standards
Coordinate with construction teams to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that may arise
Manage project documentation and ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date
Utilize CAD/BIM software to create and review technical drawings
Implement LEED principles and sustainable design practices in project designs
Communicate project progress and updates to stakeholders, including clients, team members, and management
Identify and address any potential project risks and develop contingency plans
Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (PE license preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, technical design, and construction administration
Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
Proficiency in CAD/BIM software and other computer programs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively manage resources and prioritize tasks
Innovative and resourceful problem-solver
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Previous experience with marketing and business development is a plus
