Job Description As a Food Safety Auditor you will be responsible for conducting audits on farms and facilities in accordance with both the audit scheme rules and QIMA WQS procedures.
Your Main Responsibilities Includes
Develop effective audit plans for the completion of assigned inspections/audits within a determined timeframe.
Conduct food safety inspections/audits following QIMA WQS and scheme owner rules.
Develop inspections/audits reports within a determined timeframe.
Summarize and evaluate inspection/audit findings.
Communicate findings/results of inspections/audits with client representatives.
Attend trainings to maintain qualification to conduct audits; maintain training records
Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable regulations and standards
This is a contract position. Preferred candidates will be located in the Pacific Northwest (PNW, specifically Washington/Oregon)
Qualifications Education And Experience Mandatory Qualification
Education in an agricultural/crop-based, food-related subject with a minimum duration of 2 years.
A minimum of two (02) years of work experience gained after finishing post-high school studies and overall 3 years experience in the agricultural industry.
In case of a food not Ag-related degree, minimum of four (04) years industry experience in a practical capacity on a farm or in a technical production management role related to fresh produce
Desirable qualification (can be provided by QIMA WQS)
16-hour or 02-day HACCP course based on Codex Alimentarius
Lead Auditor Course with a duration of one week/40 hours or equivalent (ISO 9001 or ISO 22000) or One Day Practical Inspection Course setting out basic principles of inspection
Food Hygiene Training (min. 8 hours) covering: site management, water, fertilizer, equipment, facilities and personal hygiene, and practical case studies (FSMA Produce Safety Rule training)
IPM, Plant Protection, Fertilizer, Soil Management (can be part of graduation)
Experience with GFSI recognized schemes such as PrimusGFS and GLOBALG.A.P. is preferred.
Availability to travel to perform the audits.
