Position Overview The HVAC/Piping Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of HVAC and mechanical systems, as well as process piping, for various construction projects. This role requires knowledge in HVAC, mechanical, and piping systems, as well as experience in estimating for the MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) industry.
Key Responsibilities
Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and materials required for HVAC and mechanical systems
Prepare cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical systems, including labor, materials, and equipment
Estimate process piping systems, including chillers, heaters, and other related equipment
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates
Communicate with clients and vendors to gather necessary information for cost estimates
Maintain accurate records of project estimates and update as needed
Attend project meetings and provide input on cost-related matters
Identify potential risks and opportunities in cost estimates and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in estimating for the MEP industry
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field a plus
Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and piping systems
Proficiency in using cost estimating software and tools
Familiarity with industry standard cost codes and cost tracking methods
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field (preferred)
Benefits
$75,000 - $110,000 base salary depending on experience
