Our Client, a leader in Building Automation Controls Systems is seeking Building Controls Consultant to add to their growing team. The purpose of this position is to deliver the final line of support for issues in the BAS/HVAC/and related technology space. These Consultants use industry knowledge to deliver technical expertise - networking, sequencing and programming of BAS systems - to solve issues from current clients. This is a customer facing role - work from home - that involves client travel at approximately 3-4 days per week in the Downtown Washington DC area. The role does include a company vehicle and gas card and pays in the $93K - $145K range based on experience, includes an annual bonus program, and a strong benefit program.
The key to this role is solid Controls experience using Niagara 4, on either Distech, Honeywell, or Siemens field programming (any of the 3). The role also calls for a high experience level in technology - BAS networking, sequencing and programming - Consultants will provide services related to the expansion, upgrade or replacement of building automation hardware and software for smart building infrastructure, as well as programming, configuring, and testing of Direct Digital Control (DDC) building automation and control systems. Incumbents of this role will also:
Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents
Perform network troubleshooting, database troubleshooting and repair programming
Collaborate with the engineering team on the system configuration, network and software requirements, graphics, programming, and sequences of operations
Develop and configure the sequence of operations, programming, graphics, database, network, and integrations into third party systems
Maintain accurate and thorough project documentation and redlines
Provide owner training as required by the project
Execute system commissioning and functional testing
Assist in installation of control hardware
Startup and commission new hardware installations
Provide project management assistance on projects as required, interfacing directly to customers
Supervise sub-contractors and suppliers as needed
Help educate lower-level technicians through on the job training as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the BAS Engineering realm
3+ years programming and working with BAS related software - Tridium/Niagara preferred
3+ years Device Programming with any of the following: Distech / Siemens / Honeywell
Knowledge of HVAC System Sequences including Rooftop / Air Handling / Central Plants
Ability to understand visual block programming
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of DDC Control Theory and Applications as related to HVAC equipment
Strong knowledge of common DDC communications protocols such as but not limited to BACnet, LON, Modbus, etc.
Strong communication skills and customer service attitude towards solving technical problems and communicating with clients.
Niagara N4 certification preferred but not required
