Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness and compliance of the Quality Control System.

Analyze data and determine factors to assist other functions in developing corrective action.
Develop and maintain a defect prevention system.
Communicate quality issues to management.
Conduct internal audits for compliance with the quality management system (QMS).
Conduct product and manufacturing process audits.
Assist the Quality Manager in preparing and establishing procedures and work instructions for the improvement of the quality management system.
Review new product specifications and changes to existing specifications and advise as to the plant's ability to copy and review gages and masters for new products and specification changes prior to production.
Upgrade and implement quality management system changes as required.
Assist customers with returns, analyze customer complaints, and determine corrective action required to prevent reoccurrence.
Visit customer plants to expedite the resolution of quality problems.
When applicable, provide a corrective action report to the respective customer and management.
Review quality systems and assure compliance (e.g., "P" charts, SPC, Control Plans, Calibration).
Establish sampling plans and analyze results for incoming, in-process, and final inspection techniques.
Study the effectiveness of present inspection techniques and keep informed of new ones.
Coordinate and lead the manufacturing team with structured (8D) problem-solving.
Documentation management where required (e.g., PPAP, Non-conforming, 8D's, Warranty)
Aid vendors in clarifying specifications and resolving complaints.
Conduct quality system reviews at vendor facilities.
Assist training needs for supervision, inspectors, and operators as related to quality and SPC.
Serve as a member of APP (APQP) Programs.
Monitor customer scorecards.
Monitor relevant customer-specific requirements and ensure compliance.
Universal Expectations
Authority to stop production or shipments when suspect parts are found and responsibility for the quality of parts produced.
As relevant to the job, functional knowledge, and utilization of Carter Fuel Systems Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Standard.
