Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Investment Accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with State Street's PAM (Portfolio Accounting Management) platform. This role involves providing expert guidance, support, and training to our investment accounting team, ensuring the accurate and efficient management of investment portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
Expertise in PAM: Serve as the primary expert on the State Street PAM platform, providing in-depth knowledge and support for its functionalities and capabilities.
Data Management: Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date investment data within the PAM system, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Reporting: Generate and analyse standard and customized reports to support decision-making and regulatory requirements.
Investment Accounting: Oversee and manage investment accounting processes, including transaction management, cash management, reporting, recordkeeping, and valuation.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the investment accounting function, leveraging the capabilities of the PAM platform.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local GAAP, tax, statutory management, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the PAM platform.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment accounting, with a strong focus on using the State Street PAM platform.
In-depth knowledge of investment accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
Proven experience in managing and optimizing investment accounting processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and training skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Basic Understanding of Automation Concepts and Experience in using SQL or other relational database languages.
Proficient knowledge in Investment Banking Domain, staying updated with the latest trends and developments to provide expert advice and guidance
Ability to provide training and mentorship to others, helping to improve their understanding and knowledge in the PAM area.
Help improve business performance by identifying problematic areas and providing relevant technical/Business solutions.
Offer necessary guidance and required business knowledge to IT developers/Users during the entire development life cycle. Determine the essentialities and requirements of software development and recommend some technical solutions.
Work closely with the developers, testers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and automate.
Previous work experience in Back office Accounting Tool preferred
Knowledge of external reference data providers -BLOOMBERG, REUTERS, will be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multi-basis accounting requirements.
Familiarity with various asset classes, including traditional assets, mortgages, bank loans, derivatives, and private assets.
