As the Building Engineer, you will utilize various skill sets to regularly inspect and identify any problems that may take place at the assigned properties. Your position is responsible for making minor repairs to plumbing or electrical, and/or contacting specialists when the job is too complex. You are tasked with carrying out routine maintenance such as changing light bulbs, cleaning, and miscellaneous duties such as assembling pieces and meeting with vendors. This role will service our Hilliard, OH office as well as various commercial properties within Columbus.
What are the Key Objectives:
Provide maintenance support and customer service to commercial tenants via work order system
Communicate effectively with assigned property manager for weekly report(s) or as needed
Performs mechanical maintenance and report functions of the facilities and equipment on defined properties
Performs preventive maintenance on company equipment or assigned properties and maintains proper records
Serve as point of contact for various third-party vendors
Performs duties specified in third party contracts
Maintains company office or jobsite as assigned
Arranges and facilitates required inspections as necessary including fire alarms, extinguishers, backflow, etc.
Performs general grounds keeping duties, clean-up such as sweeping, removing various waste, cleaning shop areas, fixtures and equipment
Executes all work activities with the highest standards for safety and quality
Who Do You Work With and Who Guides Your Career:
This position work with vendors, clients, and Property Managers and reports to the Associate Director, Property Management.
What You Offer:
High School diploma or equivalent
3+ years hands-on maintenance experience required
HVAC Certification preferred
Industrial or Office maintenance experience preferred
Basic computer skills required
Valid drivers' license required
