An established developer/builder specializing in high-end, luxury condominiums and mixed use facilities located in Chicago. With a well-known brand name and expanding construction division, this firm builds not only their own developments but will partner with other real estate developers to lead their construction efforts. With their current Director of Preconstruction moving out of state, they are looking for someone to take the reins in the next month.
The Role:
This is a leadership role reporting into the C-suite team and working on construction division direction and new project opportunities.
Oversee all preconstruction processes and manage hiring processes for the preconstruction team
Lead feasibility analysis and risk assessments with the development team
Develop relationships with real estate developers, subcontractors, and new clients in Chicagoland and surrounding region
Oversee design stage through construction closeout reviewing project plans, requirements, and specifications
Develop initial project schedules
Put together bid packages by reviewing subcontractor quotes
Have knowledge of materials pricing and equipment/labor costs
Requirements:
At least 7 years in multifamily construction in either project management or estimating/preconstruction
Extensive knowledge of preconstruction processes including estimates and new business opportunities
Bachelor's Degree in pertinent field (Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, etc) strongly preferred
Familiarity with Chicago real estate market
Knowledge of local channels and networks for building processes (subcontractors, vendors, contractors, material suppliers, etc)
