Job Description: As a Commercial Property and Casualty Underwriter specializing in Long Haul Trucking insurance, you will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, determining coverage levels, and making critical decisions on risk acceptance. Your expertise in the trucking industry will be essential in tailoring insurance solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients in the long-haul trucking sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and assess the risk involved in insuring long haul trucking clients.
  • Determine appropriate levels of coverage and premiums based on risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents to ensure a steady flow of business.
  • Collaborate with other underwriters and team members to develop specialized insurance products for the long-haul trucking industry.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in underwriting technology.
  • Provide expert advice and support to clients and stakeholders regarding insurance coverage and risk management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial property and casualty underwriting, with a focus on long haul trucking insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:
  • Designations such as CPCU, CIC, or ARM are highly desirable.
  • Experience in data analysis and risk assessment tools.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting the trucking industry.
