DataX Connect are seeking a Data Center MEP Project Manager to join our clients team, overseeing the successful delivery of complex data center projects.
Role Overview:
As the Data Center MEP Project Manager (Owner's Representative), you will be the pivotal point of contact between the client, contractors, and internal teams. You will ensure the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems of data center projects are executed to the highest standards, within scope, on time, and on budget. Your role will be crucial in managing the entire project lifecycle, from design to commissioning, ensuring that all MEP components meet the client's operational requirements and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Lead and manage MEP aspects of data center projects from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and addressing any concerns.
Technical Oversight: Review and approve MEP designs, specifications, and plans. Ensure all systems meet the necessary technical and regulatory standards.
Contractor Management: Oversee the work of contractors and vendors, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to project schedules.
Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and manage project budgets and schedules. Track and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control processes, ensuring all MEP installations meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Commissioning and Handover: Coordinate the commissioning process, ensuring that all MEP systems are fully tested and operational before handover to the client.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline. Advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus.
7+ years of experience in MEP project management, with a strong focus on data center environments.
In-depth knowledge of MEP systems and their integration within data centers, including cooling, power, fire suppression, and security systems.
Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
