The Chief Operations Office (COO) is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of Intercap's mortgage lending operations division. The COO must establish and maintain efficient, compliant, and customer-centric mortgage lending processes. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong understanding of mortgage operations, regulatory requirements, underwriting guidelines and industry best practices. Responsibilities • Develop and implement operational strategies to streamline mortgage lending processes and enhance efficiency • Oversee all aspects of the mortgage lending lifecycle, from application to closing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies • Lead and manage teams responsible for underwriting, processing and closing, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement • Implement risk management protocols to mitigate operational risks and ensure the integrity of our mortgage lending operations • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and technology, to drive operational excellence and support business objectives • Monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including borrowers, lenders, wholesale partners, regulators, vendors, and industry partners • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making and drive innovation within the mortgage lending division • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to support operational objectives and achieve financial targets
Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mortgage lending operations, with a proven track record of leadership and success • Strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations, compliance requirements, underwriting guidelines and industry best practices • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading and managing teams to achieve operational excellence and drive results • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization • Proficiency in mortgage lending software and technology platforms • Relevant industry certifications preferred
