Position Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively leading and growing the design engineering team, providing operational execution oversight, and pursuing new work opportunities within the region. They will be expected to have a firm understanding of the regional team's technical capabilities, the needs of major local clients, competitors and key partners, and available talent pool from local competitors and universities. The candidate should have or quickly develop relationships with multiple targeted clients within the region and initiate contact with other potential, secondary clients that could be leveraged in the future.
This role requires engaging both new and existing clients to solidify strong relationships and best position their team to build a stable and growing backlog. The candidate should have experience in project sorting to determine if a project should be bid or not bid based on an effective evaluation of the impactful variables. They should have experience mentoring new and experienced team members through their challenges and helping them meet individual career goals. This role requires an in-depth understanding of project and business line financials including reporting and presenting these results to senior leadership. They will help build and execute short-term and long-term regional market strategies to set the best course supporting the Power business line.

Location This position can be based out of our office in McLean or Richmond, VA. The ability to travel at least 20% to client and project locations within the region is expected.
Responsibilities
Develop and grow the regional business by building relationships throughout each clients' engineering operations organization
Drive business growth through expanding service offerings within existing clients
Sponsor business development pursuits, key partnerships, strategy and initiatives, including development and review of proposals and estimates
Provide local project sponsorship and monitor performance routinely using pre-defined metrics (progress, financial health, schedule adherence, risk and opportunities, claims)
Build teams, including appropriate levels of management, needed to ensure quality execution (adherence to budget, schedule and quality
Grow operational capability and scale through talent acquisition and establishment of additional satellite offices
Promote development and mentorship of local team, include mapping of career paths, goals and opportunities
Provide day-to-day supervision of office staff; serve as primary office representative within regional organization
Coordinate staffing needs and availability routinely with business line peers
Work closely with "Get Work" teams and other departments ensuring maximum exposure of the Company's capabilities, including an understanding of the offerings of other Kiewit business units and the presentation of those capabilities when appropriate
Manage regional P&L financial performance, revenue delivered, achieved net gain and billable utilization
Actively collaborate in development of business planning and market strategy
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in engineering from an ABET accredited university
At least ten years' experience performing power engineering related duties
At least five years' management experience leading project teams performing power engineering related duties
Knowledge of engineering standards applicable to the power industry
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence in taking initiative
Professional Engineering license (required)
PMP Certification (desired)
Legally able to work within the United States for any length of time
Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language
