Job Summary The team member will be responsible for engineering drawing interpretation, writing coordinate measuring machine programs, performing dimensional layouts on CMM and working with various teams including engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, new product development and customers to establish root cause analysis and corrective actions for part failures.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities Work from engineering drawings and specifications with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Follow written and/or verbal instructions and perform dimensional inspections using measurement and test equipment such as: micrometer, caliper, dial indicator, height gage, coordinate measuring machine, profilometer, bore gage, gage blocks, surface plate, plug gage, thread gage, optical devices, and hardness tester.
Evaluate machined components for pumps, valves, heat exchangers, homogenizers and end items for conformance to dimensional, visual, operational, and test specifications.
Evaluate purchased and manufactured materials to applicable drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
Generates and operates CMM programs for first piece, in-process, final inspections including special projects.
Maintain records of acceptance, rejection, and findings.
Evaluate customer and/or distributor returned materials to determine root cause of nonconformities and prepare written and/or CMM reports accordingly.
Operate manual and DCC CMM's.
Works with Manufacturing Engineering to develop CMM inspection holding fixtures for product.
Interpret work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and routing sheets to determine conformance to standards and tolerancing.
Comply with all quality, safety regulations, and procedures (ISO 9001).
Maintains CMM machines to include probe qualifications, calibrations, regular cleaning and preventative maintenance.
With minimum supervision, apply knowledge and experience to solve problems to ensure product quality.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as engineering drawings, routings, work orders, and engineering specifications.
Ability to write documentation such as SOP's, procedures and work instructions.
Able to manage multiple priorities and/or projects.
Must have working knowledge in the use of micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, hardness testers, profilometers, bore scopes, optical comparator, CMM and other related equipment.
Able to program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (PC-DMIS).
Understand complex dimensioning systems and identify Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
Effectively communicate noted deviations from tolerances and quality requirements to managers, supervisors, operators, engineers, and team members.
Good communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Education And Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
Computer knowledge is required; SAP, PC-DMIS, MS Word, Excel.
ASQ Certified CQT preferred
PC-DMIS Level II preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
