This position will support the US Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information (DOE OSTI) vision to ensure long-term preservation of and access to DOE scientific and technical information through support of windows system administration. This position is onsite in Oak Ridge, TN with no remote option.

Position-Specific Duties
Install, configure, maintain, and monitor Windows based computer systems
Vulnerability remediation and software patching
System baseline hardening using DISA STIGs
Manage accounts and group memberships in both on-prem and cloud environments
Deployment of COTS and custom applications
Automation of routine and repeatable tasks
Document systems' policies and procedures
Coordinate and communicate activities, status updates, outage notifications and schedule information with clients, other IT personnel, and other team members
Education, Training, Experience
Prefer candidates to have or be working toward a degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field from an accredited college or university or with equivalent background
Minimum of 3 years' system administration experience with Windows
US citizenship is required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Experience with Windows operating systems
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory/Entra (Directory Services, Federation Services, Group Policy, Domain Trusts, Certificate Services, Right Management Services)
Experience administrating Microsoft M365 environment
Familiarity with Smartcards/PKI
Familiarity using VMware vSphere and vCenter
Familiarity with VMware Horizon or similar remote desktop software
Strong troubleshooting and solution research skills
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell
Experience with task automation
Experience with centralized patch management solution
