Our client is a private equity firm based in Boston, MA looking to hire a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer. This individual will act as a point of escalation to the Service Desk and other IT Functions to resolve issues and requests. The ideal candidate has experience and exposure to working and supporting development teams including the creation of cloud-native applications and associated tools. This role requires 3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain current systems, both on-premise and cloud-based
Practice continuous improvement and continual learning, staying abreast of trends and changes in the technology field
Work closely with other internal IT functions as well as cloud vendors and system integrators
Installation and configuration of new systems
Keep systems up to date in line with company standards and create new system documentation as required=
Ensure security, keeping in line with developed policies and practices
Design and implement cloud solutions, working to agreed standards and principles
Monitor performance and provide proactive remediation of systems
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering/technical subject
5+ years of experience in cloud computing infrastructures
Advanced Certification in cloud solutions (e.g., Azure Solution Architect Expert)
Migration experience of complex environments, including a combination of 'Lift and Shift' as well as refactoring in house developed applications.
Strong understanding of emerging cloud technologies and standards
Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure incl. VDI, networking, security best practices, automation technologies and DevOps operating models
Strong exposure to DevOps tools i.e. GitHub and exposure to CI/CD pipelines incl. Jenkins etc
Understanding of ITIL IT Service Management methodologies incl. Change Management.
Experience drafting and delivering communications to ensure full transparency within all levels of the business
Flexible working hours along with the ability to work outside normal business hours on an as-needed basis
