BICP, a leader in the delivery of advanced analytics data products & innovative cloud ecosystems for large enterprise customers, is looking to hire a Data Scientist + Analytics Consultant for an initial 3-month engagement supporting one of our clients in Southern California. Ideal consultant will be available to work onsite in Newport Beach, CA however we will consider Remote for the right candidate. Candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills in addition to proven success collaborating effectively with key business stakeholders we well as highly technical development teams.
We are looking for smart, analytical people with a unique blend of technical aptitude and great articulation skills required to work with the business and deliver accurate and meaningful models and insights. We are looking for a candidate that is a self starter and can thrive in a highly autonomous environment. Candidate will create conceptual models for both Sales and Marketing data. Initial scope is to assess and understand gaps that need to be bridged before we can build permanent models and reporting solutions. Essentially showcase what is possible and uncover deltas within existing data ecosystem.
What you will support:
Take disparate flat files from Excel, Operations System and Salesforce
Model the data for one-time analysis scenarios (statistical modeling, synthetic data creation to fill in data holes, potential basic algorithm development to produce insights)
Develop insights into margins and profitability across our product lines and customers
Work with business teams in product and finance to drive conclusions to the insights (which customers should we invest in and which ones should we not invest etc.)
Experience with Excel, data manipulation, python, visualization of data.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
5+ years of relevant work experience Data Science / Data Analytics
Experience working directly with business partners to form a deep understanding of their business needs and partnering cross-functionally to develop solutions for broad use
Experience translating business objectives and questions into data models, critical metrics, and reporting requirements
Prior data visualization experience in tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Python/R libraries, or similar tools
Strong proficiency in SQL or similar programs
Proficiency with cloud environments such as Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS
Working understanding of Agile methodologies and principles such as Scrum, LEAN, Kanban, and how they're applied in workplace.
