The Category Management Specialist position will develop and maintain planograms across all product categories for use by GHRA member stores using computerized space planning software to maximize overall space to sales.
Primary Responsibility:
This role will support our members with two critical functions. The first is to leverage our internal plan-o-gram tool to maximize sales and profit through offering the optimal product mix, as determined by category managers. Secondly, you will manage a smaller revenue DSD category and assume P&L ownership of assigned categories and analytical support for the Category Management team.
The Planogram Analyst will participate in annual category reviews with the category managers by providing analytical insights and supporting merchandising standards. This role will also be responsible for the publication of the planograms to the category managers and members. Long term, the Planogram Analyst will partner with the Market Sales Manager to address store-specific needs.
Essential Functions:
Communicate and work directly with the category managers and suppliers to create and maintain planograms for all product categories
Utilize computerized space planning software, according to merchandising and planogram standards
Efficiently optimize sales performance
Provide Category Review data from pertinent sources
Maintain communication with all category managers to stay on track according to the planogram refresh calendar
Manage planogram calendar, monitor project progress, resolve issues to ensure deadlines are met
Manage and optimize the replacement and discontinued item process
Oversee the marketing, merchandising, promotion, planning, and communication of the respective items in an assigned category or categories that drive the profit and loss statements for stores.
Create and implement plans, annual or otherwise, that support and align with GHRA's broader marketing strategies.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Experience and Skills:
2+ years of computerized space planning software (JDA, Apollo, etc) experience preferred
Solid understanding of retail (c-store or grocery) product placement and store execution
1+ year(s) of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel experience required
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail while working in a very fast-paced environment
Good communications skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Open to change as business demands require
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Physical Requirements:
May be standing or sitting for extend period of times
Occasional light travel
Extended period of time working in front of computer monitor
