Role Summary: As a Clinical Accessioning Representative, you'll play a crucial part in the lab's workflow, ensuring all data related to clinical samples is accurately and efficiently entered. Although you'll work in a laboratory environment, this role does not involve lab procedures such as pipetting or extracting. Instead, you'll manage sample data entry, paying close attention to detail and processing at a fast pace while working with biological specimens.
Responsibilities:
Accurately enter client-provided data for each clinical sample received, ensuring thoroughness for downstream processes.
Verify specimen integrity by matching specimen labels with paperwork and applying appropriate accession numbers.
Follow up with clients or patients to confirm missing information and update shared follow-up work lists.
Coordinate with other departments regarding specific cases as necessary.
Adhere to all lab safety protocols, including wearing PPE.
Key Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Capable of independent work as well as teamwork
Accurate and fast typing with meticulous attention to detail
Critical thinking and adaptability
Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs
