Position Summary:
The Director of Total Rewards is a strategic partner to the VP People & Culture responsible for the design, development, and compliant administration of all employee compensation, health and welfare, recognition and rewards programs and initiatives across the enterprise.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes superior guest service.
Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
Lead the design, development, and administration of broad-based compensation strategies, including salary structures, base pay FLSA designations, all short, long term and incentives, and other variable compensation plans under the direction of the VP of People and Culture and in collaboration with the CFO and General Manager.
Continuously assess market trends to develop and refine total rewards strategies, ensuring they align with business and talent needs maintaining the ability to attract and retain employees. This includes but is not limited to comprehensive competitive benchmarking and assessment of internal metrics.
Lead the design and implementation of company job architecture, job evaluation and infrastructure structure and align with pay plan architecture.
Manage, evaluate, and communicate achievements against incentive targets to business leaders as well as executive team.
Partner with business leaders and HR team on annual performance review process and change recommendations.
Identify compensation and benefits, rewards and recognition trends/themes and make recommendations to revise or enhance offerings.
Partner with the VP of People & Culture on executive compensation projects including annual incentives, equity programs, etc.
Prepare components of offer packages for new hires, promotions, and adjustments, and prepare talent-planning budgets.
Chair Compensation Committee including creating and managing the presentations and materials for the agenda. Additionally, ensure timely follow through on all approved/actionable items.
Monitor and evaluate all benefits programs, including insurance programs, retirement plans, time off policies, etc.
Lead annual benefits renewal process, 401(k) audit, true-up, and excess return. Ensure plan documents are maintained, revise SPDs, ensure all regulatory filings are executed in accordance with requirements, and manage annual profit share process.
Ensure all projects, programs, plan documentation, and communications meet applicable guidelines.
Coordinate with benefit providers on wellness and health education initiatives.
Participates in negotiating benefit coverage with benefit vendors, broker, Legal, Finance, and HR.
Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for benefits programs.
Work on special projects for the HR team.
Maintain working knowledge of federal and state legislation influencing compensation and benefits, proactively amending policies and programs as needed.
Work closely with Finance to ensure effective decision-making for all compensation and benefits programs.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data-driven analyses supporting strategic objectives and talent management.
Oversee the development and implementation of compliance protocols for all total rewards programs, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards. Conduct regular audits and reviews of compensation and benefits to identify and mitigate risks ensuring full compliance with evolving legal requirements.
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, or Payroll and ten (10) years' experience in an HR managerial position, overseeing and administering the compliant administration of all employee compensation and company health benefits in addition to experience with (but not limited to) 401k, life and AD&D insurance, short term/long term disability insurance, FMLA, HIPAA, ACA, and FLSA, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
