Job Description:

The Senior Director of Talent Acquisition plans and directs Ashley's employment and recruiting programs, policies, and objectives to achieve optimal staffing levels for all Ashley manufacturing and distribution sites. This position develops and administers recruitment strategies that meet organizational needs and is responsible for the overall recruiting and hiring of employees. The Senior Director of Talent Acquisition is also responsible for effectively managing the day-to-day recruiting and hiring process to fill labor roles within manufacturing and distribution. This position must maintain the measurements specific to the hiring process to demonstrate continuous improvement.

Primary /essential responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business leaders to determine capacity planning for current needs as well as projected growth needs.
  • Provide direction to the team to ensure they are sourcing qualified candidates using newspaper, radio, internet, and other recruitment strategies to ensure recruitment needs are met.
  • Develop and implement new recruiting strategies to meet the anticipated staffing needs of the organization at all locations.
  • Develop and manage effective recruitment advertising and negotiate pricing with agencies to ensure compelling and cost-effective advertising that remains in alignment with the budget.
  • Develop, monitor, improve and manage the recruiting metrics and systems to ensure the positions are being posted, interviewed, and filled, legally and efficiently, while continuously improving the hiring process.
  • Develop, implement and improve HR policies and procedures related to the hiring process, continually assessing effectiveness to ensure recruiting strategy meets business needs.
  • Manage, oversee and audit the recruiting and hiring process to ensure we are meeting the business needs and legal compliance.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversee the coordination of on-site and off-site recruitment activities including job fairs, high school presentations, and employment agency presentations at all locations.
  • Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
  • Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
  • Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate.
  • Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through regular team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.

Job Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience, Required

Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience leading talent acquisition teams recruiting roles in a manufacturing and distribution environment, Required
  • Experience managing global teams, Required

Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of effective recruiting methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Employment laws
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety and health practices and procedures
  • Basic OSHA principles and regulations
  • Employee relations principles
  • Ability to determine the suitability of the applicant for employment

  • Moderate Domestic Travel
