We have a local Austin opportunity for a Payroll Administrator II, looking for someone who likes challenges at a forward-looking energy company with a long history of outstanding service.
In this job, you'll be responsible for the application of payroll skills and expertise to perform payroll and reporting activities in compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, ensure accurate and timely payments, utilize knowledge of payroll systems, solve payroll-related problems, and effectively communicate with users. What you get to go do in this role: • Serve as a liaison between end users of the HR/Payroll PeopleSoft application and the time and attendance application and technical staff to ensure functional and efficient use of computer systems that support business processes. • Process, along with other Payroll staff, of bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls. Determine and correct out-of-balance conditions. Review and ensures accurate computation of pay within company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures. • Update employee payroll records. Make or ensure that changes affecting net wages such as payroll taxes and other deductions, miscellaneous payments, insurance coverage and direct deposits are accurately made in the payroll system. • Work closely with payroll staff to identify need for system revisions, formulates system requests and recommendations and analyzes post-implementation results of system changes. • Inspect automated system output, such as registers and standard reports. • Prepare general ledger entries. Perform tasks to ensure accurate posting from sub-ledger to the general ledger. • Prepare and creates standard and ad hoc reports. • Accumulate and organize information to ensure that payroll related amounts are reported to all required governmental agencies. Reviews federal and state reports.
What you need to be successful: • Six or more years of experience in payroll or accounting, including five or more years of experience in payroll using automated payroll and time and attendance systems. • A degree(s) in accounting or relevant field may be substituted per company guidelines for certain years of experience. • Preferred Qualifications: PeopleSoft HR and PeopleSoft Financials
