About the Job:
The Manufacturing Technician will operate a foundry to produce metal powder for 3D printing and/or assist with metal powder processing (sieving, separating, packaging).
All production positions include maintenance duties as well.
Employees will train on-the-job and work in shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate plasma-arc foundry to melt and atomize high performance alloys to metal powder used for the 3D printing industry.
Operate production sieving systems, blenders, and other equipment to separate the granular powder into different size categories for various 3D printing system requirements. This includes sieving, weighing, blending, packaging, labeling, shipping, and disposal.
Handle and package manufactured powders per safety procedures and operational quality specifications.
Monitor manufacturing process sensors and capture critical quality and process data parameters.
Work safely with high power plasma, vacuum, and high-pressure gas systems.
Maintain equipment, including disassembly, cleaning and reassembly.
Troubleshoot issues and repair equipment, as needed.
Experience operating machinery or working in a manufacturing facility is strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with machine process troubleshooting
Experience maintaining a production performance log is preferred.
Experience operating a foundry is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of hand- and power-tools is a plus, but training will be provided.
Core knowledge of different metal types is a plus.
Able to perform basic calculations.
Basic computer skills (familiar with MS365/Windows OS).
Reasonable hand-eye coordination.
Must be able to follow all safety standard operating procedures and rules.
Experience operating fork-lift and scissor-lift is desired, but not required. Desired

Work Environment and Physical Requirements of the role
The position is based in a manufacturing facility, including loud noises, moving mechanical parts and exposure to metal powders.
Work hours may include shifts, weekends and holidays as needed to meet production demands.
Strict adherence to safety protocols is required to minimize risks associated with handling hazardous materials.
The role requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe shoes, protective eyewear, earplugs and respiratory equipment (when working with metal powders).
Must have capacity to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
