We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator (Healthcare) who can be based in the Greater Midwest / Rochester, MN area. This position will require up to 40% travel working a hybrid schedule to/from the Rochester, MN office. The Senior Estimator has responsibility for administration and execution of estimating activities for $400M+ healthcare projects.
Responsibilities
Responsible for keeping team informed of activities, progress, and problems as it pertains to Estimating activities
Establish Customer Satisfaction goals for Estimating
Leads in developing accurate pricing for design-phase or GMP estimates
Maintains appropriate industry contacts to insure best and final information on market pricing and trends
Identify and resolve problems under conditions of incomplete information and uncertainty
Schedules department estimating and deliverables and balances workload accordingly
Manages the department to assure multiple duties and responsibilities are executed by all staff members
Communicates with operations staff in planning work schedules
Extensive experience in conceptual healthcare estimating
Experience estimating on Integrated Project Delivery and / or Integrated Form of Delivery projects
Significant experience utilizing Target Value Design: establishing conceptual estimates based on programming and blocking and stacking diagrams, developing component costs to guide the design within the parameters of the Allowable cost
In depth knowledge of healthcare programmatic cost
Possess the business acumen to understand contractual instruments of service
Ability to work entirely independently or collaboratively with a team during Programming, Validation, and Target Value Design / Preconstruction to develop Cost Model / Estimate
Ability to create cost model and track of variances during scope development
Based on project experience, ability to define expected project scope, i.e., wall locations, casework, medical equipment, doors, glazing assemblies, MEP layout, etc. to develop baseline scope from programmatic and concept design information
Knowledge of Destini Estimator software
Visualize, analyze, and communicate project scope of work
Coordinate cost/means and methods with Client and design team and prepare preliminary cost estimates/budgets
Actively participate in Last Planner Pull Planning sessions to add and manage tasks, milestones and commitments
Work with Design Team and Trade Partners to reconcile cost estimates
Manage Risk & Opportunity Process
Prepare General Conditions/Site Services Costs
Delivers and presents estimates to clients
Ability to preserve/reconcile all aspects of the estimate presentation while in front of a group/with client
Knowledge of suitable contractors and suppliers for all types of projects
Familiar with both union and merit shop contractors
Familiar with the use of On-Screen Take-off software program (Destini Estimator)
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar technical specialty preferred but not a hardline requirement (combination of education plus experience will be considered)
10-15 years of relevant experience estimating Healthcare projects in excess of $300 million dollars ($300-500M projects ideal)
Proficient with Destini Estimator software a plus
