Our Space client in San Diego is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer III to join a project team environment as an individual contributor. This role will focus on the design and development of new test architectures as well as sustaining engineering tasks.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, schedule, and execute functional performance and environmental test architectures.
Review device and system-level functional specifications, design documents, and project documentation.
Participate in the review of software product design and coding.
Ensure all developed test protocols are automated (where possible), adhere to testing standards, and are well-documented.
Develop work estimates and status reports for each test effort.
May lead and coordinate part or all of the testing efforts for a project, which includes developing and tracking a test plan and schedule, as well as reporting test results.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with a concentration in software; or equivalent knowledge in software engineering.
Extensive background in test engineering with demonstrated technical skills.
Expert-level configuration of ATE components, including rack instrumentation and PXI architectures.
Excellent track record developing test automation software (LabVIEW experience is not required).
Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Experience with test tools and equipment, particularly high-end spectrum and vector network analyzers.
Proficient in writing and executing test procedures; strong documentation skills.
Desirable Skills:
Working knowledge of OpenTAP test software development.
Basic printed circuit board design experience using Altium Designer.
Familiarity with flying probe, AXI, and AOI test services.
General industry knowledge to support external vendors during the quoting, scheduling, and execution phases.
Previous experience testing RF devices operating in the S, X, and Ka bands.
Exposure to optics and laser communication technologies.
