About the Role
The Director of Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading the development and implementation of progressive sourcing strategies that deliver cost efficiencies, supply assurance, new product development partnership and quality in the procurement of materials and services. This role is expected to help identify and screen suppliers, develop strategic relationships, lead pricing and contract negotiations and continuously drive improved supplier service levels through leadership and direction on a cross-functional basis for a total spend that exceeds $100M.
Responsibilities
Lead by example, direct, and manage a team of category and sourcing managers
Develop category sourcing plans that aligns with the company's growth and financial objectives
Lead resources in the identification of potential suppliers, requirements documentation, RFQs, financial and sourcing analysis, negotiation and contract award and supplier performance management
Drive annual cost reduction activities by identifying and tracking product cost drivers, commodity indexes, market trends and economic factor; structure cost reduction programs using value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) techniques, value creation plans (VCPs) and other tool sets to reduce supply chain complexities, lead-time, waste and total cost
Delivers business results including efficiency, working capital improvement, supplier payment terms and DPO improvement and continuity of supply
Continuously improve sourcing processes through the implementation of new tools and best practices
Prepare monthly operating metrics for savings, LTA status, project updates, trends, and material variance reports
Negotiate complex agreements with global suppliers with consideration towards quality, reduced lead-times, pricing, terms, tooling costs, service, and possible protection of IP; assist in developing contingency plans to mitigate risk; may negotiate blanket contracts to maximize savings over multiple years of spend, including performance clauses and all other terms and conditions
Lead and monitor supplier performance management initiatives including conducting key supplier quarterly business reviews
Provide leadership for new product launch support; lead supplier selection, requests for quotes and insurance that suppliers are clear on product launch deliverables; collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful launch
Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and new markets as business requirements dictate
Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to support business objectives, revenue growth opportunities, supplier innovation and cost reduction
Develop relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses
Education + Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, supply chain or engineering with a minimum of 5-10 years of increasing responsibilities in manufacturing environment

Microsoft Outlook and advanced Excel skills required; Epicor experience preferred
CPM, APICS or other supply chain management certifications preferred
