Position Summary

The Director of Operations oversees all daily operations with direct responsibility for operations, sales, quality, compliance and account management. The Director of Operations directs the activities and will oversee the training and development of a team within the Spokane, WA and surrounding markets. This is a key leadership position that will work cross-functionally on operational and sales initiatives to help us reach our growth goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains relationships of trust with customer contacts at all assigned accounts and ensures customer retention
  • Develops plans to monitor and improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost for the operation
  • Implements processes in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships through a scheduled program of calling and meeting with all customers within the assigned region
  • Collaborates regularly with divisional and national sales teams to ensure mutual operational and sales goals are achieved
  • Works closely with HR and legal department to drive labor compliance within the business such as wage and hour, utilization of subcontractors and training requirements
  • Conducts monthly operations staff / training meetings with all field supervisors and employees in the region
  • Interviews and recommends supervisory staff for open positions
  • Monitors operations and initiates corrective actions for abnormalities
  • Encourages and promotes operating in a continuous improvement environment
  • Removes production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct employees to attain all established goals and enhance productivity
  • Regular travel to support customers and/or sales opportunities and to expand business throughout the territory
  • Uses Microsoft Office-based cost management system to audit bi-weekly budgets for all assigned accounts to include labor, supplies, and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications
  • Progressive leadership experience in a multi-site service-related industry
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, labor and expense management
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and coaching, and the ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills

Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial janitorial, facilities services, or similar service based/multi-site industry
  • 3+ years of leadership experience a mobile role with responsibility for a decentralized workforce across multiple site locations
  • 4-year degree in Business Administration or related field highly preferred
  • Ability to travel regularly across the Eastern Washington region
