Company Overview: We are a leading general contractor specializing in restaurant construction projects across Nashville and the surrounding areas. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, timely, and innovative restaurant builds for our clients, ensuring they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Superintendent to join our growing team and lead our restaurant construction projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee daily operations at the construction site, including scheduling, site coordination, and quality control, ensuring all aspects of the project are progressing as planned.
Team Leadership: Manage and supervise on-site personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and vendors, ensuring productivity and compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety meetings, site inspections, and enforce safety practices on-site.
Schedule and Budget Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that milestones are met and the project stays on track. Work closely with the project manager to monitor and control costs, avoiding delays and cost overruns.
Quality Control: Ensure that all construction work is performed to high-quality standards, meeting all relevant codes and client specifications. Perform regular inspections and address any issues promptly.
Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the construction process.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues that may arise on-site, including construction delays, resource shortages, or unforeseen obstacles.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate daily reports, progress logs, and project documentation. Submit reports to the project manager and other stakeholders as required.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or leadership role, preferably in restaurant construction or similar projects.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and lead a team of subcontractors and laborers, ensuring high levels of performance and safety.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively on-site.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
Safety: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. OSHA certification is preferred.
Technology: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Education and Certifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certification in construction management or a related field is a plus.
Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred. Additional certifications related to construction or project management are a plus.
