We are seeking an experienced Audiovisual Engineer with strong leadership and management skills to make a meaningful impact in higher education. Join this well-established organization as an expert AV Engineer, where you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of AV systems across campus. In this role, you will work on innovative projects, implement cutting-edge AV technology, and collaborate with diverse teams to enrich the learning and working environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities:
Research new technology and translate insight to develop and propose new products through evaluation and demonstrations
Responsible to conceptualize integrated audio, visual, and video teleconference systems architecture into a complete AV
Professionally write and complete partial written technical scopes of work that include engineering details. Translate users requirements into functional systems drawings
Directly responsible for creating complete bills of material that support the scope of work
Design and document fully integrated AV systems to include signal routing, audio systems, video conferencing, audio conferencing and all related components
Develops conceptual and detailed designs that meet functional, technical, and budgetary requirements.
Meets with project stakeholders for discussions on functional requirements, usage models, current state, design considerations and expectations
Assist in creating solutions with application drawings and related technical materials for presentation to prospective users.
Keep current with new products and developments in the industry by attending shows, conferences and engaging in forum discussions, and with manufacturers
General knowledge of data networking products/solutions and network design including Routing, Switching, IP networks, VPNs, Servers, Security and Hosting
Regular adherence to deliverable deadlines provided in internal systems or contractual agreements.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience with audiovisual manufacturers including Extron and Crestron
Experience with Higher Education or K-12 Schools highly preferred
Experience in Audiovisual Designs using AutoCAD, Visio, etc.
Must be able to demonstrate problem solving skills to help coach and lead the Field Services team to support the AV componentry around campus.
3-5 years as an AV Systems Designer/Engineer
Skilled at communicating technical information in a simple and effective manner
Experience with documenting system workflow and line drawings
Familiar with AV control and DSP platforms (Crestron, Extron, QSYS, Biamp, etc.)
