Position Summary: The Multi-Discipline Engineer II will work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to address technical challenges in a fast-paced production environment. The role includes supporting the ramp-up of new products and processes, driving process capability, and facilitating improvement efforts through mechanical design and problem-solving methodologies.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Assess performance gaps and identify opportunities for new process equipment.
Recommend improvements based on process flow gap analysis.
Generate designs aligned with agreed solutions.
Draft and obtain quotes from vendors for necessary equipment.
Deploy prototypes and evaluate designs based on functionality and performance.
Update engineering and operations documentation as needed.
Provide production support to manufacturing operations.
Identify chronic issues and suggest corrective actions.
Conduct training for the technical workforce regarding operational changes.
Qualifications:
BS or MS in Mechanical, Industrial, Ceramics, or related Engineering discipline.
3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in mechanical design, parametric modeling, and technical drafting.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Familiarity with troubleshooting and safety protocols in a manufacturing context.
Desired Skills:
Experience in experimental design and project management.
Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab or JMP).
Knowledge of polymer coatings and glass forming processes.
