Job Description:

This position is located in Memphis, TN - on site

Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using drafting tools or computer-assisted design (CAD) or drafting equipment and software.
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including the selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to work and solve problems independently and in a team environment.
  • Support of Mfg areas to meet production objectives.
  • Tool/ Fixture design.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new ideas.
  • Leadership potential for future growth of the engineering department

Education and Experience:
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent program
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 3D CAD experiences such as Solidworks and Inventor are a plus
  • Ability to travel as required
